I had a fantastic stay at a Clay House in Udawalawe. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and an AC to keep me cool. The bathroom was also spacious and had a hot shower and a bathtub. I loved spending time on the terrace, enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. The hotel's location was great, situated in a cute neighborhood and just a short walk away from restaurants and shops. The staff was incredibly welcoming and spoke good English, making communication easy. They helped me organize a safari to the national park at a good price, and even provided me with a ride to the bus stop. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of tasty curries to choose from. this hotel provided a wonderful and private experience.
Can't fault anything about it.

This place was absolutely mind-blowing! The owner was super helpful from the moment we booked, assisting us with transportation and even organizing a safari for us. The cleanliness and tidiness of the surroundings were jaw-dropping, and the AC worked great. The owner went above and beyond by providing snacks and water for the safari, and the breakfast afterwards was simply incredible. The fast and reliable WiFi was a huge bonus. We couldn't believe how kind and honest the owner was, always available through WhatsApp. The care and attention they showed us were truly exceptional. The newly-built rooms were furnished with natural clay and provided a comfortable and clean stay. The highlight was the delicious home-cooked Sri Lankan dinner prepared by the owner's mom. It was our first time trying Sri Lankan cuisine, and wow, it was amazing! The friendly and accommodating staff made our stay even more enjoyable, and the trip to the national park was absolutely stunning. We highly recommend this place as our favorite during our trip to Sri Lanka.

The rooms at Clay House were cozy and comfortable with a private entrance, which gave us a sense of privacy. The tile/marble floors added a touch of elegance, and the seating area was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. We really enjoyed having a private bathroom in the rooms, as it made our stay more convenient and hassle-free.
Personally, I would have preferred if the triple room had air conditioning. But hey, that's just my opinion, and I'm sure others might still find enjoyment in it.

Great Location: The nearest airport was just a short 50 km drive from the accommodation, making it convenient for us to reach. It was like a breeze and we didn't even break a sweat!
Small Signage: It was a little hard to find Clay House as the signage was not very prominent.
